Lawyers managing companies are becoming an increasingly common phenomenon in business transactions. For several years now, even the principles of legal ethics, considered conservative, have allowed lawyers to participate in company management boards. Of course, every lawyer who runs their own law firm also manages their own business. However, this is usually a micro or, at most, a small enterprise operating in the rather specific market of legal consulting.
It was only when we took on the management of another company’s operations that we were able to fully understand our customers’ needs.
Business problem
How often do we hear from a lawyer: I can’t help you because your problem is “business-related” rather than “legal”? This is how lawyers protect themselves from liability for economic decisions. But that’s not all. Most often, however, they avoid answering questions in areas where they do not have much experience. And yet, clients usually expect a solution to their problem, which is essentially business-related.

After many years of legal practice in the field of commercial transactions, we have become familiar with a wide range of issues and risks associated with running a business. However, it is only by taking on the management of a company other than our law firm that we can truly understand the mindset and expectations of our clients. A lawyer managing a company stands on the other side, taking on challenges that were not previously within the scope of legal advice.
Our experiences
